Oregon Elopement Locations Perfect for Two
Oregon is an endless beautiful backdrop after another. There are really very few ways to go wrong eloping here, but the benefit of going with me is I’ve been adventuring here the last decade and know all of the best spots to go! Here are just some of my favorites places around Oregon that are perfect for your elopement plans.
OREGON COAST
I have a huge soft spot for the ocean, so I’ll never turn down a coastal elopement! Plus, the Oregon coast is so vast and has a variety of incredible landscapes. From sandy beach fronts to rocky cliff sides, you really can’t go wrong.
OTHER COASTAL ELOPEMENT VENUES
COLUMBIA RIVER GORGE
Much like the coast, the Columbia River Gorge is full of endless locations to say your vows. From waterfalls to cliffside views of the river, there is no wrong choice. But there is a right way to go about it! Some spots do require permits and timing is always key to avoid the crowds.
MOUNT HOOD
It’s actually a little crazy how lucky we are as Oregonians to have all of this so easily accessible! Just over an hour from downtown Portland, you can drive up to Timberline lodge and find yourself at the base of Mt Hood, epic at sunrise and sunset, and the Pacific Crest Trail is just a short walk away from the parking lot, leading you to insane views of the mountain and valley below.
TRILLIUM LAKE
Just a short drive down the hill from Timberline is Trillium Lake. The surrounding trails of evergreen are a beautiful place to wander together before saying your vows in front of Mount Hood’s incredible reflection across the lake. It’s again an incredible spot for sunrise or sunset (I love an early morning elopement!). Fair warning, if you’re there at peak summer when it’s warmest in the mountains, you will need bug spray!
SNAKE RIVER TRAIL
Running south of Mount Hood is the stunning Snake River, The trail has plenty of places to stop, either along the river itself or amongst the giant trees and moss covered forest floor.
These two opted for a private rental to stay the weekend for their elopement, perfect place to relax and get ready before a short river hike. Take a look at this entire elopement here!
OTHER COLUMBIA RIVER GORGE AND MOUNT HOOD VENUES
MARY’S PEAK
This is one of those gems I don’t see nearly enough. Mary’s peak, outside of Corvallis, is 35 miles from the coast, but on a clear day you can still see the sun set on the ocean. The rolling hills and a breathtaking spot to take a moment together and dance amongst the flowers.
PRIVATE RENTALS
There are some serious indoor gems hidden across all of Oregon if you know where to look for them (big hint, it’s not just Airbnb)! I’ve had the opportunity to see some incredible spots with past couples, and the rentals aren’t just for getting ready shots. There are plenty that allow small events on site and have incredible indoor decor so you’re not worried about the weather. Peerspace is my favorite option for finding unique and beautiful spaces!
