Micro Wedding Vs. Elopement: How to Know What Fits You
The goal is intentional moments and intimate vibes, but the question, how intimate? Let’s take a look at what really defines the difference between an elopement and a micro wedding and what would be the best fit for you.
Elopements typically include a minimum of 5 people; the couple, two witnesses, and an officiant (plus me, but I can also legally sign as your officiate!). My elopement packages include up to 10 people so partners can invite their parents (+4) and usually the officiant’s partner. The day is truly about you two, with an hour set aside just for couple’s portraits so you can soak it in together and we can get creative with portraits while I capture your love. Most couples then take a break while I set up either a cake cutting moment or intimate dinner for you and your guests to enjoy.
If you’re looking to provide the same kind of intimate and meaningful experience, but want to have all your closest friends present, a micro wedding might be the way to go. My packages are capped at 50 people, helping keep timelines more open and allowing real moments to happen, instead of getting stuck in a greeting line of 300 guests your entire reception. I can still provide styling support for these events, however, I do not provide any day of setup for these larger events. You’ll still get my calm direction, an editorial eye, and storytelling that pays attention to the details, just without the full styling package built in.
