What Elopement Styling Actually Includes (and Why it Shows Up in Your Photos)
Maybe you’ve got a vague vibe, and you know you want to keep things intimate, but besides that you don’t know where to begin? It’s here. Hi, you found the start line and I’m here to guide you through this marathon. Styling your elopement is about bringing in meaningful, intentional, details that elevate your day, and I’m here to make that experience happen without you being overwhelmed by every detail.
Finding the Right Location
The Pacific Northwest is full of stunning locations, you could almost close your eyes, spin in a circle and point and you’ll find somewhere beautiful. This is where my expertise comes in. First, I’m an explorer at heart and have an endless list of locations, many that you’ve probably never seen or heard of! I understand the permitting needed along with the technicalities of getting to certain locations for your ceremony. Second, I love to take natural elements and bring in details that emphasize the beauty and take it to the next level; a simple arch, a rug for you to walk together, actual vow books instead of just reading off your phone- I’m there to help fill in all the gaps and make your day a true event worthy of your love.
How Details Can Elevate Your Day
While I tend to lean into the maximalist vibes, you don’t have to have a lot of details for them to add to your day when they’re selected in a meaningful way. I’m a huge fan of paper goods, like a custom announcement for your friends and family that happens to match your vow books (possibly made by your stylist and inspired by your ceremony venue!)
Jewelry and accessories are always a great way to add meaningful moments to your day. A locket with a loved one’s photo on your bouquet, your dad’s cufflinks, or your mom’s wedding earrings. I personally wore my grandmother’s veil, the first granddaughter in the family who got to do so! Wearing a vintage or heirloom gown is also another lovely nod, but keep in mind elopement locations are often outdoors, meaning dirt. But dang do we love a dirty dress hem, something about it just says, “I’ve lived and I’m loved”. And there’s nothing like a matching moment with coordinating scents specialized for your wedding day. I always think the best details are the ones that can become keepsakes for you!
Creating a ‘key event’ like a cake cutting or intimate dinner is the perfect way to bring in important details and create a meaningful moment for the two of you to enjoy during your day. More than just fun photos, it’s a sincere scene that gives you a chance to slow down and take in an experience with each other.
What I Provide For You
I’m here to help define the visual direction of your day, so everything feels cohesive, not random or overwhelming. I’ll help you
make styling decisions that feel doable (outfits, details, scene moments)
build a simple plan for portraits and the flow of the day
document it all with artful, honest images that still feel like you
We will start with a basic vibe, any details you really love, and I’ll create a full design plan, from what to wear to where to go. You’ll have a second review of your design plan, make any tweaks, and then I’ll dive into getting things going with your vendors (which I can help you find). I’ll create a schedule that works for you and the setup of your elopement, and you can check in with me via email anytime during the planning process.
What it comes down to is I’m just as obsessed with love as I am with design. I want to create moments that elevate your elopement into an incredible and unforgettable experience. And if you want intimacy with bold design and someone who’s genuinely obsessed with making the vision come to life, I’m your person.
