Zoerb Anniversary // Samual H Boardman State Scenic Corridor

It’s always fun to get to plan something for yourself. For our 7 year marriage anniversary (15 years together) we adventured south to the Samual Boardman State Scenic Area with one of my favs, Alex Elise Photo. I’ve been wanting her to capture some photos for us for years and these are beyond what I could’ve imagined!

If you know David and I, you know that our wedding was Portland’s worst storm since 1968. With a storm like that, we’ve always wanted a bit of a wedding redo, especially when it comes to photos. The day before was nothing but pouring rain, but thanks to a little luck ( and maybe a little witchcraft) we work up before sunrise to clear skies for our morning adventure. I designed and created the sleeves and veil for my first outfit, paired with my original wedding jewelry. David wore a velvet green coat, star gems in his pocket that matched my hair pieces. We hiked our dogs down to Secret Beach and watched the soft sunrise across the ocean. A little sun poked through the trees as we walked back and Alex captured the moment of my dreams, I’ve never felt more angelic! We then went to our second location, a secret cliffside Alex knew, where I changed into a fringe jacket and hat as we frolicked the hillside. Our last stop was a nod to our original wedding, where I got into my dress and we ran the beach with Juniper. Alex photographed our original invite with the new details, including field notebooks for our vows since the last ones barely survived the rain. David made us all dinner and I got to bring the china my mom gifted us for our wedding. The day was beyond magical, a kind of peace that made up for the chaos of our original day.
