Let’s get started!

Prepare for your Photoshoot!

Scheduling your Session

Save the Dates are usually sent out 8-6 months prior to your wedding. If you’re planning to use your engagement photos for these, you’ll need to schedule your session 4-6 weeks from when you need your cards to allow for editing time and product delivery.

I aim to shoot through golden hour for majority of my shoots. It’s that warm, sunshiny time just before the sun sets where the light is low and casts soft shadows. I love to shoot until what I call blue hour (which just sounds better than blue ten minutes) right after the sun dips below the horizon and you catch those last few minutes of dreamy light.

Sunrise can also be an incredible time to shoot, starting just before the sun crests the horizon and ending before it gets too high in the sky. It can be a little chilly in the wee morning hours, but always worth the views.

You and I will chat about what you are looking for in your session, check sunrise or sunset times for your location, and plan the best time to meet for your shoot.

What to Wear

My best advice? Be you! These photos are about reflecting the best of you and should reflect your style. But here are a few suggestions that can help!

Color Tips!

Replace Bright Green
with Forest Green

Replace Bright Orange
with Pumpkin

Replace Yellow
with Mustard Yellow

Replace Hot Pink
with Salmon or Peach

Replace Bright Red
with Maroon

Don’t forget to do your nails and clean your ring for that close-up shot!

  • Avoid clothing with large logos or wording as it can be distracting.

  • If you are going to be wearing something with a pattern, make sure your partner’s outfit is more of a solid color to compliment yours.

  • Pick two outfits. One more casual, comfortable, but something that makes you feel extra confident. Your second outfit should be something you love, maybe a little more formal, that makes you feel like royalty!

  • Dress in layers. Adding a jacket or cute hat is an easy way to quickly change up your look without having to entirely change your outfit.

Where to Go

From your favorite coffee shop to scenic vistas, this is all about you two. If hiking is your jam, let’s hit the trails and find some epic views for sunset. Or if you’re a couple with more of a city style, let’s hit the waterfront or grab a drink downtown in your favorite bar. Whatever you choose, we will adventure around together to keep things fun and funky while I capture your love!

In need of suggestions? Let’s chat! Depending on if you want to use your photos for your wedding decor, we can coordinate somewhere with a similar style. Or we can find something completely different from your wedding venue to give you a full spectrum of style. I’ve travelled all across Oregon (and beyond!) and there is a perfect place for everybody!
